Modern Meditation is run by Stuart Bold

Over 15 years ago, after a few years spent in a successful career as an international lawyer, working in London and New York, Stuart "packed it all in", turned down a partnership in a city law firm and decided to pursue life style interests instead. He spent a number of years travelling the world, teaching scuba diving and skiing and developing his interest in meditation and complementary healthcare.

For over 15 years Stuart has been practising meditation (which progressed from living on a semi-deserted beach in Mexico for a year) and he continues to support his own daily meditation practice with periods spent in retreat and in workshops in the UK and worldwide.

He has been teaching courses in meditation for several years and is also is a practitioner and teacher of Reiki (having spent a year apprenticing as a teacher back in 1999). Additionally he trained, over a two years period, as a Cranio-Sacral Therapy practitioner.

Prior to founding The Meditation Foundation, Stuart spent a year or so working with the Prince of Wales Foundation for Integrated Health in London, managing the creation and implementation of a self-regulatory system for complementary healthcare in the UK. During this time he worked with 12 of the main complementary healthcare professions and the Department of Health to achieve this. Immediately prior to this, Stuart spent a period of 5 years setting up and running a retreat and complementary healthcare centre at an old convent in the south of France, where he taught introductory meditation classes and complementary healthcare, amongst other things Stuart has recently been invited to join a panel set up by one of the UK’s largest NHS Trusts to advise on the health and wellbeing benefits of meditation.

He is also a Director and co-establisher of the Guild of Professional Healers.

10% of all of the net profit from Modern Meditation courses goes to support the charitable work of the Meditation Foundation.
